FIOE head Bin-Makhlouf calls for tangible efforts to defend J'lem and Aqsa

BRUSSELS, (PIC)-- Head of the federation of Islamic organizations in Europe Shakib Bin-Makhlouf called for more concrete efforts to protect occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque against the Jewish threats.

In a press release on Tuesday, Bin-Makhlouf stressed that the positions taken by different parties in the Islamic world in support of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the Arab city of Jerusalem should be translated into action in order to curb the Israeli occupation's violations in the holy city.

He affirmed that the Muslim communities in Europe support the just cause of Jerusalem, adding that the federation of Islamic organizations decided to open a European foundation specialized in Jerusalem affairs.

Bin-Makhlouf also expressed his belief that the current year would see an increase in the moves and efforts in support of Jerusalem throughout the European continent, and noted that preparations are underway to hold a European conference on Jerusalem.

In a related incident, the Muslim brotherhood-affiliated students of Al-Azhar university organized on Tuesday afternoon a massive rally in protest at the Israeli violations and threats against the Aqsa Mosque, and the attempts to destroy it and expel the Palestinian natives from their holy city.

More than 5, 000 students marched throughout the campus chanting slogans and carrying banners condemning the Judaization activities in Jerusalem and calling on Arab leaders to open the borders to defend the holy city and the Aqsa Mosque from the Jews.
